Acupressure and yoga are both amazing and valuable tools to support birthing couples in staying present, motivated and comfortable through the intensity of labor and beyond. This afternoon workshop offers women and their partners an opportunity to go deeper in their connection to each other, their babies and their own intuitive wisdom.
As a couple, together you will learn how to confidently navigate all phases of labor with breath awareness, massage and partner poses. Furthermore, partners will learn skills on how to effectively apply acupressure and create a safe, focused, and calm environment for the birthing mother.
Locations and functions of commonly used acupressure points are illustrated through class instruction and hands on practice. Partners will learn how to use them, when to use then, and in what combination for the best results, as well as how to include other members of the birth support team and when to refer to a licensed acupuncturist.
